Join The Way of Freedom Ecstatic Dance Experience
A 3-hour musical journey blending tribal and electronic sounds to guide you through a deep experience of movement, release and connection.
Join us for The Way of Freedom at Essência, Aljezur, from 17:00 to 20:00 — a 3-hour immersive journey of music, breath, movement and connection.
We’ll begin with a gentle warm-up to open the body and arrive into the space.
From there, Álvaro will guide a 20-minute breathwork session designed to help you move out of the mind, drop into the body and become fully present.
Once the body is open and the mind has softened, we’ll enter the Ecstatic Dance wave — a musical journey to release, expand and return to your truth.
The experience will close with a grounding integration meditation, giving space for everything that moved through you to settle.
You are welcome to simply arrive and join the journey for 20€ at the door or book online for 3€ and pay 15€ at the door.
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement experience where music becomes the guide and the body leads the way.
There are no steps to follow and no expectations to meet. You are free to move however you feel — or simply sit, observe and receive the music. The space is held as a conscious environment: no alcohol, no substances, no phones, and minimal talking on the dance floor, allowing a deeper connection with yourself and the experience.
The music journey is carefully designed to take you through different phases — from grounding and gentle awakening, into expression and intensity, and finally into softness and integration.
This is not about dancing “well”.
It’s about feeling, releasing, exploring and reconnecting with your body in a safe and open space.

About Alwar
Alwar is an ecstatic dance DJ and space holder, creating musical journeys that invite free expression, movement and connection.
In his sets he brings a specific intention for guiding a collective experience, weaving tribal and electronic (house, dubstep, psytrance) sounds into a flowing journey through different energies and emotions.
Each session is an invitation to let go of control, move as you feel, and reconnect with yourself through music.
